What can I expect from Women's Yoga Circle?
A nurturing feminine yoga practice lead by Kate Alexandra. Live sound healing by Rosie Henshaw.
For thousands of years and across many cultures, women have gathered to reconnect to one another, themselves and the well of women's wisdom.
Our monthly gathering is based in the tradition of yoga, which historically was designed by and for men, so we'll be putting a feminine spin on things; slowing down, diving into our intuition and embodying our cyclical nature.
A two hour session includes: a gentle breath-based yoga practice (inspired by womb yoga and tantra yoga), live sound healing (with sitar, acoustic guitar, chakra chimes), yoga nidra guided meditation and a women's sharing circle to witness one another and our intentions for this cycle.
Friday March 10th 7:30 - 9:30pm in Redfern
Saturday April 22nd 1:00 - 3:00pm in Waverton
More sessions TBA
WHY Feminine Yoga? The essence of this practice is about nourishing the divine feminine spirit in each of us. Themes that speak to the feminine spirit will be explored throughout each yoga class, such as: SELF CARE + self love; deep LISTENING to the messages our bodies have for us; unconditionally LOVING our bodies in a world which tends to value and judge women by their external appearance; connecting with SHAKTI (divine feminine creative spirit); nurturing a sense of BEING ENOUGH exactly as we are in a masculine world that sees 'doing' and external achievement as a measurement of worthiness.
Connecting with your own inner resource helps make peaceful living a reality and can ease the pressure we sometimes feel to 'do it all', discharging the burden of stress from juggling work and familiy life and reconnecting with your inner desires and passions.
Accessing your inner resource living along with deeply listening with to your inner wisdom are a few of the most practical and nourishing gifts that a regular yoga practice can offer the modern woman.
