What's The Deal With Essential Oils?
Remember the 90s... oil burners, patchouli fragrance and nag champa incense? Yea, that was me too. My love for essential oils goes way back to my teens, though little did I know how powerful these aromatic plant compounds are in supporting our physical and emotional well-being.
Essential oils are complex and require much respect beyond their enticing aromas as they interact with our brain chemistry to uplift, sooth and support our emotional well-being, empowering us with natural ways to shift out of negative emotional states and in to more positive ones.

Top Uses For Essential Oils:
IMMUNE SUPPORT: There are so many essential oils that have immune boosting properties, because it is the essential oils in the plant that make up the plants natural defence against disease and environmental threats.
My go to oils for immune support are: Oregano Oil and doTERRA's proprietary protective blend OnGuard, this is a powerful combination of clove, rosemary, eucalyptus, wild orange and cinnnamon. I take these oils internally, and roll on the bottoms of my feet (and my kids feet) when seasonal threats are high. They are also able to be diffused to eliminate airborne threats.
SKIN SUPPORT: Oils to support healing skin, including minor cuts and scrapes, burns, rashes, insect bites and protection against infection.
My go-to combo for all things skin is Lavender and Tea Tree mixed with a carrier oil in a convenient roller ball. Lavender is especially good for burns, and tea tree is especially good for insect bites and as an anti-fungal. Together they are a great all round skin support.
I also LOVE Frankincense mixed with jojoba oil on my face every morning. Frankincense is a powerful oil for cellular rejuvenation not only topically, but when taken internally it nourishes every cell of the body. See more on the benefits of Frankincence (Boswellia) at www.pubmed.gov
RELAXATION & SLEEP: If you thought of Lavender already, you would be right! Lavender contains linalool a soothing element, which is effective at creating a calming and relaxing atmosphere. Two other fantastic oils for pacifying the overactive mind and nervous system are Vetiver and Balance, doTERRA's proprietary Grounding Blend. When applied to the soles of the feet, and pulse points before bedtime, they prepare the body-mind for a restful nights sleep.
WOMEN'S HEALTH: Whether it's that time of the month or you are getting ready to have a baby, the number 1 oil for women is Clary Sage. This extraordinary plant interacts with our hormonal systems to create natural balance, thus reducing painful periods, helping regulate mood swings and PMT, and if you are pregnant and past your due date, it can help get things moving along naturally!
doTERRA also makes a beautiful blend called Clary Calm which incorporates the soothing powers of Lavender and Roman Chamomile (among others) for mood support, which I have found incredibly effective at reducing my PMT! I not longer have to take pain killers, and I have managed to avoid my typical monthly hormonal angst these past 2 months! So amazing. I believe every woman needs this oil!
